ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Anne-Louise, a baker who’s been making wedding and celebration cakes since 2002. I find my job very rewarding (despite the long hours and tired eyes!), especially meeting couples and families and hearing about their plans, every cake has a story and I love being part of it.

I’m also the business admin assistant, marketer (hardest job ever!) and late-night cleaner.

I specialise in creating bespoke wedding cakes that feel classic and timeless but with a modern touch. I love simplicity but with a splash of colour, or pattern; or a selection of my handmade wafer flowers. All my cakes are different because every couple is unique, and I hope my designs reflect that. I also make birthday and celebration cakes. Its fun and I get to create every child’s favourite character as well as simple, elegant designs for my grownup clients.

I didn’t start out as a baker, in fact I’ve had such a varied career path, but hand-on-heart, baking and creating special cakes and desserts has been the most rewarding. And yes! I also make ‘posh’ desserts and favours, all beautifully made and perfect for dessert tables, centrepiece or party celebration.

Here’s a few facts you might not know about me:

When not baking I love nothing more than walking my two rescue lurchers.
My favourite sponge flavour is spice coffee and walnut.
I have a degree in Fine Art and Pattern Making, which comes in very handy.
I love Jane Austin books and Bridgerton (if you asked me to make a Bridgerton inspired cake I get very excited).
I used to recruit pilots and cabin crew (amongst other things).
When I retire, I plan to continue travelling the world and visit all the bits I’ve missed.
